Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

200236712-001Only some days back, it was constantly drizzling. It’s been raining here in Karachi since the past week. Although it’s very frantic with heavy showers pouring constantly; it’s bringing in a lot of enjoyment as well. When the rain settles down, people usually visit the sea side or go for long drives. Cruising along the sea view is a delight. You can enjoy the amazing waves hitting the shore. When the light hits the water at night, it just looks beautiful.

Last week when I was out for dinner near the sea side, I quite enjoyed the experience. It was all in the open. When I walked across the table, small drops of rain were striking me. When I looked to my right, the view of the downpour was incredible.

Every year I wait for the rain to fall down on me, when the weather gets cold and the water is chilly. I was walking in the rain and it was like God was pouring his blessings on us. Letting us know he was washing away all the bad things from the world.

On Friday evening I heard the news that there was a massive raining in Mumbai and the whole city went flooded. I thought how could a huge city can be flooded like this.Same day at night in Pakistan we had some little drizzling which Karachi hites enjoyed that very much. The drizzling went for a day and in the morning it was beautiful all over the place.
On Saturday evening at around 9:30PM rain started again with a different way, firstly we enjoyed the rain, I sat on Face book and noticed people changing their status to “It’s raining, I am enjoying the rain” and similar to this, then came the answer to my question how could a big city like Mumbai be flooded? God gave the answer by showering his blessings. All the previous records which include 205mm of rain were broken down with 225mm this year.Roads were full of traffic jam and by the grace of K.E.S.C light went off instantly. No lights on road and cars were moving in all directions. With this excess of rain all the communication medium went off. Cars, buses, motor bikes all were jammed in every corner of the city. City of lights was seriously suffering with no lights.
On Sunday also it was difficult for people to move anywhere, water was on the road and up till now there was no sigh of electricity. As compared to previous rain water was less on the roads. But it was a hectic weekend for whole Karachi hite. Anyways I hope and pray that in future we can enjoy heavy rain like this with some effective drainage system.
