About: Mehdi Hasnain aka Moon uses pen (or mouse) name medigineers. Medigineers is the name of music band launched by him along with (medical doctors and engineer friends and hence the name ‘medi-gineers) back in 80s while studying in Karachi. These are also the early days that shaped the social media context for him ultimately resulting in what we have today as www.doodhpatti.com. Along the way medigineers (let’s call Mehdi that now) graduated from NED, worked 18 years as a business professional in strategy formulation, operations and project planning, team building and quality assurance after doing MBA in Finance and operations from Scranton, PA held senior leadership positions in manufacturing, automotive, semi-conductor and consumer electronics industries working in North America and Pakistan. He is currently working as Global Quality Director for APC and is commuting between Boston and Karachi.
“Medigineers keeps me connected with my inner creative, communal and entrepreneurial instincts”, says Mehdi and thus culminates in launching projects such as ARRA International (during his early days in Karachi), Advanced Management Group and now Tohfay.com and Doodhpatti.com. Medigineers is a writer, singer and a poet of humorous genre (a pupil of the great Late Dilwar Figaar himself) is often reciting mushairay in North America and Asia. Medigineers is a teacher, a student of finance, economy and human behaviors.

It was my last day in Karachi as I was leaving for New York in search of a greener future, I stopped by at the office to wind up my professional life, something that till now has been the biggest learning experience. As I packed my few personal things including small teddy, Yousufi Sb’s ‘Aab-e-Gum’ my coffee mug etc. While on my way back, in spite of the hustle bustle of the traffic, it felt serenely quiet in my head, and I asked myself, why was I leaving my country? The noisy streets and crazy traffic bothering me? Or the countless hours without electricity? Or is it the incident last year when my car almost drowned in the heavy rains? Or Is it the tedious hours at work? Or because of the family networks’ constant harassment regarding the delay in my marriage? Or the charm of the land of opportunity which America is famed for, none of these even remotely answered the question.
No wonder if you are shocked to read what follows as I am shocked myself too when I realized this, it was in fact the people, the community around. The people I have worked with, interacted with, my colleagues, some beautiful, some talented but all non-sense. None disappointment in life could be this much devastating than to lose your trust and respect for the people who have been a part of life.
