Gadi Ko Chalana Babu Zara Halke Halke

January 3rd, 2012 Yousuf Rafi No comments

Gadi Chalana is a complex physical and mental operation. Not only does it require coordination, it also requires rapid assessment skills and good judgment. Companies have spent decades making cars easier and safer to drive, installing everything from rearview mirrors to automatic transmissions. Despite that, some drivers insist on creating distractions for them behind the wheel, most of which have nothing to do with driving, safe or otherwise.

Pakistan Blog Awards: From A Blogger’s View

December 24th, 2011 Kinza Tahir 8 comments

Attending Pakistan Blog Awards was an honour, a prestige for me, a huge opportunity to meet and greet the blogging world. It was an experience beyond measure since it was my first time being present at such an event!

I was so nervous I could hear my heart beating in my head, but I never thought of winning I just wanted to capture and remember each and every moment in my mind.

Wearing three inch heels with a pink dress and heavy clad earrings, I thought that’s formal enough but when I entered the hall I noticed people were too casual wearing jeans. I just ignored that fact and moved to enjoy!

Action begins!

The hostess of the night was Rabia Gharib who at every point kept the audience alive, asking the Sindhi folk band to play and keep the theme going which was ‘Colors of Pakistan: Celebrating the New Media Spaces’

The first performance had children from the Garage School letting us know facts about Pakistan. The kids were delightful, they danced to different tunes which were bonded to different provinces of our country. The awards were announced, I just remembered Lahorenama, the Best Culture Blog and 24/7 Online TV, the Best Video Blog.  Major personalities were present including Imran Khan, Faisal Qureshi, Faisal Kapadia and others.

We All Are Humsafar-ing

December 19th, 2011 Kinza Tahir 4 comments

humsafarPeople are in love with the Pakistani serial Humsafar and I can feel it. How? People can’t stop talking about it! The devotion has spread worldwide. My aunt from US recently came to visit Pakistan when I casually mentioned the H word that is Humsafar she started shrieking excitedly! “What’s going to happen now? Im so worried about poor little Khirad (a character from Humsafar). All the way through the plane ride I kept asking my son and he was least bit interested but don’t tell me the end!! I’ll watch it myself”.

Yes, this serial is based on a novel and those of you who read it should know how it ends. For those who haven’t gone through the book well I’ll keep it a mystery as long as none of your friends spoiled it!

Humsafar has one of those ambitious forces working on it, bringing out the true talent and potential of the performers. I have watched the show very closely, watching repeats as well. My friends used to tell me to stop being a stalker!

GOD gifted Potential in Pakistan

December 12th, 2011 Kinza Tahir No comments

There are always two kinds of ways which people follow: the negative and the positive. In life, some think negatively but people who take out the positive out of negative, take out opportunities are those who will lead to success.

karachi

Below are points which will highlight Pakistan in a positive way:

  • This country is God gifted. It has unlimited minerals be it gas, coal and immeasurable oil that hasn’t even been excavated yet. People don’t realize how rich our country is. We have 10 kinds of marble. India only has 3 to which it does 10 arab dollars worth of exports. We have copper and gold reserves from Baluchistan and Waziristan to Chitral. Our reserves of gold and copper only are worth 260 arab dollars in Baluchistan. Waziristan has more than that. Our coal reserves in Thar have so much worth that it’s more than of Saudia Arabia and Iran combined. There is so much energy that we won’t be having problems of load shedding.

The Brain Behind CHEAPMUNKS!

November 7th, 2011 Kinza Tahir No comments

cheapmunksWhen anyone sits with me, the first topic they should discuss is ME!! Hamza Quddusi is no exception! When I met him, of course the first topic we discussed was about me, we won’t get into WHAT about me! When I asked him if I could interview him, his answer? Sure! I was very much excited because he is the lead guitarist of CHEAPMUNKS! It’s a Pakistani band consisting of Mehak Taherani, Suhana Baloch, Hamza Quddusi and Danyal Pervaiz. They have captured the music scene of Pakistan with their one of a kind mash up songs!

I asked Hamza many questions, silly as well, which he answered very patiently, here is just a bit of it!

How does it feel like to be a in a band, be a popular name? Hamza answers: ‘Pretty good actually, when you’re up there on stage playing, you get an adrenaline rush, you get excited, you know billions of people are watching but you’re in your own world. It feels good at the end of the day when people appreciate’.

Spot Fixing: 3 Idiots Sentenced To Jail

November 3rd, 2011 Kinza Tahir 1 comment

asif, amir, buttAll the allegations against them were said to be true, they have faced the result! It’s been officially announced that Salman Butt will be facing 30 months in jail while Mohammad Asif has been sentenced 12 months of imprisonment and lastly Mohammad Amir is slammed with 6 months of jail time! Why? They were charged with spot fixing, which means that every action a player takes, if a bet is kept against it, it’s called spot fixing, for the match held in 2010 at Lord’s Cricket Ground, London.

So much was said, so much is written against this, but what happened in the end? They have been punished at last. Media is showing the players’ families in grief, which is just cruelty against humanity. Playing with emotions is not the message to be given out!

According to public opinion, ’it’s a pure fair decision, its individual’s fault, these players are corrupt and we as a nation suffered because of them’.

Butt being a senior player and captain at that time should have more responsibility regarding this! When he returns, he should be punished by the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) as well!

Is Shah Rukh Khan Too Old At 46?

November 2nd, 2011 Kinza Tahir 2 comments

SRKAs long as I remember I have been watching SRK’s movies, they are so addictive, showing his hardcore acting and dancing skills. He has so many die-hard fans, from children to teenagers to adults to grandparents, he is a popular one! Especially over here in Pakistan, when people got to know Ra.One, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal was releasing here, they got so excited, as well as just happy to be witnessing a movie which will change the whole prospect of cinema!

People lovingly call him ‘King Khan’ because he has been ruling Bollywood for quite some time now! He has had many hits in his career, breaking box office records. He has done a variety of roles, being a villain in Darr (’93) and Baazigar (’93), while showcasing a hero in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (’95) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (’98), a comic role in Zamana Deewana (’95) and lastly a man with Asperger’s syndrome in My Name Is Khan (’10). Imran Khan Stuns All With Striking InSwinger!

Imran Khan bowls!

The day of change, the day of justice, no one can deny, yesterday, October 30, 2011, was the day to be recorded in history! The original champion, Imran Khan, chairman and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), held a jalsa (rally) yesterday along with his supporters in a major city of Pakistan, that is, Lahore. After a long time, people came running to attend a jalsa, from small villages to the residents of Lahore, everyone was pumped! Why? People need change! All this time, everyone can see that we need to revolutionize but they did not have a platform! May be now they do! Time will tell!

The crowd had more then 50, 000 patriotic Pakistanis, women as well! By some estimates there were over 100,000 people and one media even exaggerated to 500,000 though that could be called a very ‘wide’ ball? As reported, Imran Khan started his speech with reciting Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim! Khan began with the name of Allah, praising Him and His blessings! That seems to be an attempt to get the right wing engaged to his message a la Jamat-e-Islami and JUI vote bank. Khan said “Intention and striving is kept in our hand by Allah while success he will give Himself!”

I will mention here some of the messages and strategies he laid out as manifesto for his movement for change. Khan said, “When people of our country get up for change, no one can compete with them!” He addressed the Lahoris as well as the young generation with a very positive attitude, talking about practical targets which were reachable! Khan explained that problems related to electricity, will be a thing of the past, public will be free from such issues! Khan talked about corruption, he will end the interest system in villages and cities, taxes will be collected for the betterment of the country!
