The most enjoyable are the days which are before Eid! When I have to check out all the sacrificial animals, it truly brings happiness to my face. The whole point of Eid ul Azha for me is checking out the best Qurbani animals, the biggest one, the strongest one, and of course the most beautiful one! All of us get together, my sisters with my cousins and me obviously, to celebrate the pre-Eid days! Going to different places, From Khy-e- Mujahid 29^th street to the main street of Khy-e-Hafiz, I have seen about 2000 animals this Eid, actually more!

Once a year, people are truly entertained. They love seeing the animals especially bulls and cows! For this, the families get together and go out to enjoy the before Eid festivities. Famous names are given to bulls to attract attention and create excitement, which I think is creative. Names such as RaOne, Chulbul Pandey and more!

Sometimes I wonder how creative we Pakistanis are but still we love to live in distress. Its just because we concentrate more on what we don’t have rather than focusing on our talents by which we can shine.  Consider the picture above in which the boy is actually reducing cost by carrying a goat on its back. Now isn’t this creative!!! kool!!

I remember the time when I was in school, we had a separate subject for drawing in which we explored our creativity. We drew things as they pop’d up into our creative minds. According to studies human creativity is at maximum between the ages 3-10, after which, it decreases with time and age, and even with lifestyles adapted by us.

Good thing about the human creativity is that if humans do not use it then it then it only goes in the background of our minds, and it’s not completely lost. So, at any stage of life if human energize its creative power it’s back in action again, and it can be used anywhere, anytime.  This bust of creativity can used to create great works of art, or simply making small, occasional Eid Cards.

Eid Ul Azha, or the ‘festival of sacrifice’, an important festival in the Islamic Calender that marks the end of the Annual Pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca, known among the muslims as the “Hajj”.

During this three-day festival, muslims are mandated to slaughter designated animals such as sheep, goat, cows, and camels – depending on the availability and cultural norms of the region. All other animals’ sacrifice is forbidden during this festival.

This ‘sacrifice’ is carried out in commemoration of Prophet Ebrahim’s (Abraham) (PBUH) readiness to sacrifice his son to show obedience to God. But just as he was about to run the knife over his son’s throat, the son was promptly replaced by a sheep, and thus, this is how, or rather, why Muslims carry out this ritual.
