Mother, the only relationship and figure that makes this earth worth living despite the fact for people of faith knowing the finality of this life and the world we live in…Praises and tributes to our mothers are rendered in every form… poetic… lyrical…. prose…

I start with the Masetro Ustaad Nusrat Fateh original rendring performed by Rahat Fateh ali’s as a beautiful tribute in the sweet Punjabi language….. Simply heart-touching.

Maaa is always luv…. Always showering her best for her chandaa…

Bollywood in fact always used Maa and the relationship of son and mother in the most unusual settings and the most emotional drama climaxes… What would have Bollywood done had there not been the idea to bring a mother in the best of sequences… Ram Lakhan… the good cop, bad cop saga… set across the love of a mother split in between the better and not so better son… Subhash Ghai at his best direction..

and towards the end… as the sequence got more and more emotional so did Maa

One of the greatest hit scenes from AB movies (ok ok I agree second to ‘tera kiya hoga Kaliya…’) is from the movie ‘Dewaar’.. where a charged Amitabh… questions Shishi… and the reply he gets is somber but the most powerful…

Lollywood is also not behind for years to showcase the powerful relationship.. Some of the best songs and movie memories have surrounded the thoughts and over your mother.. Yes right from the days of our very own Shabnam… and Nadeem

Or fim star Qavi in ‘Pehchaan’.. praising all time favorite  maa Sabiha Khanum on screen in the melodious voice of Khan Mehdi Hasan Sahib.

Prayers for every one’s moms..!

Amir Khan’s Rang De Basnati

This beautiful rendering from Amir Khan classic Tare  Zameen Per is the best description of relationship one has with Maa

Best conclusion which i can think of is this dialogue by Shah Rukh Khan from the movie ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’

Very well put. I can only add that When Ammi is not there , there is no one on your side.
