Caution:

There is one merit and one de-merit for embedding files in an image. Merit is that we can secure our files in an image so no one will ever know where our important stuff is and de-merit is that any hacker can use this technique to embed virus in an image which can damage your computer. So don’t ever try to download unknown images and try to use this technique for securing your files.

Do you really think that every image is a simple jpeg file? Well if you do so after reading this tutorial your thinking will change? In this tutorial I will teach you how to hide files in an image in such a manner that image will still look as a simple image but there will be files hidden under it.

For this tutorial you must have Winzip software. I have used WinRAR a similar program to WinZip but you can also use WinZip.

So follow these steps and from now on carry out special image files:

1)         First create a new folder in your C: drive. This can be done by going in C: drive then right-click anywhere in the drive and click New>Folder. Rename this folder as Hidden.

2)         Copy a simple image file in C:/Hidden folder. I used a file by the name mylogo1 and its extension is mylogo1.jpg along with other files you want to hide in an image. I am using word document files by the name lab8, lab9 and lab10.docx.

3)         Now select the word files and right-click then click on WinZip > Add to Zip. Rename this as labs.

4)         Now open command prompt by going in Start menu > Run, write cmd in the box and hit enter. If it’s now showing only C: then write cd.. and hit enter, once more write cd.. and hit enter. Now you’ll be in the root directory of C: drive.

5)         Write as it is

copy /b mylogo1.jpg + labs.zip sample.jpg

and hit enter

6)         Now right-click on Sample.jpg file and Open With WinZip. Your hidden word files will be shown.
