In the middle of all bad news emitting from across the globe related to the recent financial crises, it makes one feel good to hear or know tit bits of good news once in a while that all is not lost. The recent news doing rounds is that the at least of all major corporate sectors, there is one sector especially in the US which will be reaping a bonanza soon – if any of the historical data is of any news. According to insiders, Hollywood, has a habit of cashing in from the bad times. People suffering from post-economic depression tend to full cinema houses during such times to forget about their problems by escaping into the make-believe world, even if that world is full of corporate shortfalls. But then watching the misdeeds of these virtual corporate worlds is always interesting, not to mention, entertaining – the main product of the industry called Hollywood.

Though, not all sectors of this mega-industry will be immune to the crises. Video home sales and paid online content will be hard-bitten, as well as cinema houses in certain areas (lower-middle) will be experiencing low ticket sales, but on the other hand, there will a marked increase overall in box office ticket sales. This could be due to less or almost nil expenditure in other forms of entertainment such as dining out and out-door games. Or, it can be simply due to lowering of ticket prices by competing cinema houses knowing well enough that this may be the only form of out-door entertainment of millions in months to come. Some of the major success that are being predicted include ‘High School Musical 3’; ‘New York’; and ‘I loved you so long’. These may very well follow the road taken by two mega-busters ‘Jaws’ and the ‘Raiders of Lost Ark’, both released during bad economic times.
