Spot Fixing: 3 Idiots Sentenced To Jail

November 3rd, 2011 Kinza Tahir No comments

asif, amir, buttAll the allegations against them were said to be true, they have faced the result! It’s been officially announced that Salman Butt will be facing 30 months in jail while Mohammad Asif has been sentenced 12 months of imprisonment and lastly Mohammad Amir is slammed with 6 months of jail time! Why? They were charged with spot fixing, which means that every action a player takes, if a bet is kept against it, it’s called spot fixing, for the match held in 2010 at Lord’s Cricket Ground, London.

So much was said, so much is written against this, but what happened in the end? They have been punished at last. Media is showing the players’ families in grief, which is just cruelty against humanity. Playing with emotions is not the message to be given out!

According to public opinion, ’it’s a pure fair decision, its individual’s fault, these players are corrupt and we as a nation suffered because of them’.

Butt being a senior player and captain at that time should have more responsibility regarding this! When he returns, he should be punished by the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) as well!

October 4th, 2011 Yousuf Rafi 1 comment

Shoaib Akhtar has revealed a lot of things in his book “Controversially Yours”. Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar in his book “Controversially Yours” said that Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram affected his career and Shahrukh Khan manipulated him. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is afraid of my bowling. This was the original material from the book, check this yourself:

Boom Boom Afridi announced retirement

June 2nd, 2011 Yousuf Rafi 1 comment

Boom Boom Afridi!! We want more Afridi!! Hit a SIX Afridi!! Yes that’s the call from every Pakistani when Shahid Khan Afridi starts playing his game. Whether it’s a local street match, a club match or an international match Shahid Khan Afridi always plays his own style to entertain the people.

Shahid Khan Afridi gained popularity when he set a world record in his debut match against SriLanka. Scoring a century in just 37 balls was not even a thought at that time. Players use to play usual cricket with normal phase.

Sachin Knows Everything

April 26th, 2011 medigineers 2 comments

sachin-tendulkar-finding-happinessSachin is the mastero ghe knows everything about the art of cricket.. recently searching the net I came across this interview of Pakistan Ex-captain Rashid Latif and according to Latif.. ‘Sachin knows more then every thing….. read on….

Pakistan ex-captain Rashid Latif has been a central figure in implicating some of the top players of his country in match-fixing. Much of Latif’s charges have been borne out in events of the past few months. As far back as ‘97, Latif had maintained something was rotten in subcontinental cricket. That included the establishment and players with dubious links with bookies. His charges against Pakistanis prompted the setting up of the Justice Qayyum inquiry.

Now Latif is willing to testify before the King Commission on the ‘95 Mandela Trophy finals, which he claims were “fixed”. In an interview with Murali Krishnan, he talks on the current crisis facing Indian cricket. Significantly, without accusing Sachin Tendulkar, Latif identifies him as one who knows all about match-fixing and says he should be questioned thoroughly.  Excerpts:

How not to walk in Shoes of Greats – Dissecting Mohali Semi-Final blow up!

April 2nd, 2011 medigineers 6 comments

A lot has been said and read and written in last two days… and here are my two “dropped catches”…Jazba

I have been writing on this blog the variance of Talent from skills and in my blog Mother of All Battles when I wrote that Pakistan must restrict India under 260 and then use skills and sense to stabilize and create a game… they did all that but.. What happened in Mohali on March 30th has pushed me to define what sets “skills and discipline” and in turn greatness apart from mere talent and Jazba..

Mother of all the Battles: Pakistan Vs India dream finale to ICC 2011

March 27th, 2011 medigineers 3 comments

YuvrajWhat many wished but did not think would come alive for Pakistan was an as unlikely outcome as having New Zealand in the semi-finals but both have come true. I have to admit I wasn’t a bit sure of green shirts making it to the last four from the beginning of the tournament as I did not foresee Pakistan passing the round of eight, and I made no secret of this in my blog Why Pakistan will not be winning this world cup focusing my point lesser for lack of talent and jazba as we have those two plenty but more so for lack of discipline, skills (read developed talent), strategy and embedded greatness.

Comments on the blog and of almost all other pundits and keen followers had predicted India, Sri Lanka and South Africa to make the last four. Fourth team remained the personal favorites of which nation or school of cricket thoughts you belong to; From ‘Aussies can spoil a party any day’ to ‘Pakistan has the Boom-Boom Jazba’ to ‘England’s time has come to be elevated’ made the quart.

The Last 8 Miles of World Cup or Schwarzzneegar Movie – Part 2

March 24th, 2011 medigineers 1 comment

Read Part 1 Here

You are reading these lines when the first (or if you are yet to become a daily reader of DP Blogs) and second semi-finals are already over. With Pakistan winning the first QF so easily, I must say what I wrote two days ago in part one is only continuing to read as the script… a world Cup or a predictable Arnold Schwarzenegger movie….

As I review the 3rd and the 4th QFs, I am realizing that there is much more adventure to follow here and it’s not only the epic India-Aussie battle that will test the emotions but the England-Sri Lanka game could very well prove to be a nerve wrecker and by the time we finish the quarter finals and semi-finals we might as well seek release of Terminator-4 the movie than the Final of ICC World Cup.

Preview of the four epic battles among the last eight teams remaining in the competition showcases some very interesting cricket days ahead.

March 20th, 2011 Yousuf Rafi 5 comments

The news is all over that our Rawalpindi Express declared retirement after the World Cup. Shoaib Akhtar emerged on the big screen in the 1999 World Cup with a long, hurtling run-up and blazing speed. A blind but passionate aim to break the 100mph speed barrier, Shoaib Akhtar was entitled as Rawalpindi Express after bowling the fastest ball in the history of Cricket.
