Khana Kab Mile Ga…

February 9th, 2010 Yousuf Rafi 2 comments

Khana Kab Milega PicturesOne of the things I hated from the time sinceI started attending these shaadi waadi functions is that in these functions Our most important resource that is time is very much wasted.

I remember in these functions whether it’s Vailma, Shaddi, Mehndi or any other event relating to Shaadi one thing for which people always wait is fooood…. Yes!! I am also in the same league. Besides wishing dulha, dulhan the real main purpose of going to shaadi functions has always been you get to meet your relatives you haven’t seen for a long time. But above all you get to taste good food, the charghey, the bar b.q., biryani. Paratha Kabab, qaurmay and haalway..

February 3rd, 2010 medigineers 7 comments

afridiEvery single Pakistani and Australian journalist and blogger have written on why in the world would Afridi do such a stupidity.. calling him  a plain idiot to asking what the hell if at all he was thinking. It is indeed mind boggling and would remain in memory as such till the day he plays cricket. 10 ) Apples are good for health.

9 ) Was checking to see if the Australians had bitten it.

Good enough to chase 50-60?

January 6th, 2010 medigineers 6 comments

Honestly…. I am sure none of you actually believed with any level of confidence at any point Mohammad-Yousufthrough the last six days that this Pakistani “herd” is good for anything. I am sorry but I can’t use the word “Team” as it is reserved and defined by multiple dictionaries for a group of people working towards a common goal. A good team is said to be one where the whole of the team is greater than the sum of its parts. Need I say more? This is as close as any time the Aussies allow opponents to come close to beating them at their home grounds … those who dare, plan and have finesse… do it…

Yousuf’s captaincy not lacking anything because there wasn’t anything to begin with to lack. Yousuf needed to show some anger (from Imran Khan’s book of captaincy) and bully the boys to do the jobs they have been hired by the rest of the nation (they are all on central contracts and yes there paid from mine and your tax money) to do.

Imran Farhat…. Not good enough !

December 15th, 2009 medigineers 1 comment

imranfarhat4On the face of it Imran Farhat joined a select band of openers who have carried their bat through an innings. On the face of it his lion hearted effort rescued Pakistan from calamity on a track that had pace, some bounce, but little else. It was a good toss to win. On the face of it Farhat has just solved one half of Pakistan’s problem at the top of the order.

But numbers and scorecards are misleading. Just as the statistic that Danish Kaneria has risen above Abdul Qadir in Pakistan’s order of Test merit says nothing about the relative qualities of the bowlers -- Qadir for my money was world class, Kaneria is just worthy of an international cap -- so today’s scorecard tells us nothing about the true nature of Farhat’s innings.

In an innings of panic, Farhat was the most panic stricken. In a desert of technique, Farhat was often the driest, except when leathering his trademark knee-on-the-ground drive to the off-side boundary. One particular stroke -- as he charged and thrashed a good length ball to oblivion, in his mind sending it sailing over the long on boundary but in reality skying it over the slips -- defined the ineptitude of Pakistan’s display, and may become a contender for the stroke most unworthy of a Test opener.

Younis Khan’s resignation: An unlawful affair

October 14th, 2009 Yousuf Rafi 2 comments

I am very upset. And, the reason quite simple – Younis Khan’s resignation. I mean what it is with PCB? Are they insane?

I mean how can they blame him – just merely on Indian media’s assumptions?

APTOPIX Pakistan Cricket Asia Cup

After all, isn’t he our national hero? For the past few months I have witnessed a remarkable uplift in our cricket team’s morale and of course, their performance, and much of this is due to tireless efforts of the man himself – Younis Khan.

It isn’t fair that to blame the man, just because the media on the other side of the border is basing their assumptions on heresy.  And, all this, I believe, is that since their own national team performed so badly against our heroes that they have dropped down to such depths as to promote negative news about our team.

The Third Semi Final: A recap of the last two matches between Pakistan & Kiwis

October 2nd, 2009 medigineers 1 comment

As you read this blog the hype is already on and we are in the middle of the first semi-final between arch-rivals Aussies and England. Of course this is a much bigger game as the Ashes-Rivals clash as compared to the 2nd semi-final between the unpredictable Pakistani boys and the underachiever Kiwis the next day.

As I started reflecting on what awaits us all on Saturday night, I realized that it’s the third time the two nations are meeting in a main ICC event semi (sorry I do not consider T-20 as a formal or serious cricket game yet). Take a visit back the to the last two meets:
