Atif Aslam is a very talented musician, singer and composer of Pakistan. He is the shining star of new era and he has got a huge number of fans around the world. His popularity is increasing day by day especially in youngsters; he is the heart throb of millions of girls & boys across the world.

Atif Aslam sang some unforgettable songs such as “Aadat”, “Dil Harey”, “Who Lamhey”, “Yaken”, “Hum kis galli, “Maula” and “O re piya”. One of the most critically-acclaimed tracks done by Atif was “Kuch Is Tarah” which got enormous popularity on different musical websites in Pakistan and it became a super hit song, topping the Pakistani music charts.

After the superb success in his solo career he got a breakthrough as playback singer in Indian movies. Famous Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt signed him for his soundtrack “Woh Lamhey” in his motion picture, “Zeher” (2005). The song (especially the remix version) became an instant hit & dominated airplay almost on all the major FM radio stations throughout India & Pakistan for a period of 6 to 8 months.

Later on he recorded more super hit songs for Indian movies like:

Kalyug (2005), entitled “Juda Hokey Bhi“

Bas Ek Pal (2006), entitled “Tere Bin”

Race (2007), entitled “Phley Nazar main”

Controversies began surrounding Atif from the beginning of his solo career. Many of Atif’s critics accused him for stealing songs from the former band mate Gohar Mumtaz. Both Atif and Gohar laid claim on songs like “Aadat”, “Dil Harey”, “Woh Lamhey” and “Zindagi”. Still no one knows whose creations actually these songs are.

Some people assume in India & Pakistan that he does not understand music very well but he proved all of them wrong. His newly released melody songs “Kaise batayein” and “Tera Hone Laga Hon” from Hindi movie “Ajab Prem Ke Ghazab Kahani” changed their minds. We can see his passion about singing career in his songs. He has a cinematic voice and he is improving as singer day by day.

    There is credit to be given to him for fantastic compositions and melodies. However, whenever I have heard him sing live on TV, he is absolutely a “bay sura”. He is no doubt an artist as a package but his live singing, which is the real thing, is very weak. He needs to improve that or not sing live at all.

    @Khalid… I couldnt agree more with you…. Atif Aslam is “out of Sur”… I think more then compositions.. what has worked for him is fantastic marketing…. which is very important an dhe is good at it… I guess what I am saying is that there are better melodies… songs and compooistions out there that have gone un-notiuced in last so many years…

    @Arshia
    Live singing is what makes an artist great, someone who lives in the memory of people even after they are dead and their songs never ever go out of style. This true across nations and generations – have you heard Kishore Kumar or Rolling Stones?
    I totally agree that Atif has given us wonderful songs and we are proud of him as a Pakistani. However to really be world class artist someone who will be part of our pop culture for a long time, he needs to improve his “real” singing. If not, then he will just become a fad and will not last long. Time will tell. Till then, I will enjoy listening to his songs when he not singing live.

He is a Pakistani too Dude.it’s give wrong impression. Mr Khalid: I think Atif will remain memory of people even after they are dead. He is a real fighter.
